Dyosa Anne Curtis
If you think there’s no proof that Anne’s not Dyosa-worthy, then, we dont know from what planet are you from… or maybe, you’re a hardcore kapuso, you know, network wars… hehe.
For sure, everybody now knows that the super pretty, sexy, and charming Anne Curtis is gonna play goddess in the new ABS-CBN kapamilya fantaserye, “Dyosa”. Anne will be playing three “dyosa” roles — as a mermaid (her long time dream), as a centaur (half-horse, half-human), and as a “abs-cbn sarimanok?” haha, lol, a half-human, half-bird creature.
Seriously, Anne would be playing Dyosa Cielo (Goddess of the Heavens), Dyosa Tierra (Goddess of the Earth), and Dyosa Agua (Goddess of the Seas).
Other hot stars that would be in Dyosa are Luis Manzano as Kulas, and coverboys and Big Brother ex-housemates Zanjoe Marudo as Mars and Sam Milby as Adonis (who’s exclusively dating Anne, yihee!).
Supporting cast are big time as well. Here they are: Epi Quizon as Bakos; Mickey Ferriols as Mariang Sinukuan; Matthew Mendoza as Bernardo Carpio; Jacklyn Jose as Magayon; Lloyd Samartino as Amang Suga; Carlos Morales as Tadaklan; Maricar de Mesa as Calliope; Nikki Bacolod; Vice Ganda as Salaminsim; Rubi- Rubi as Huling; Jojit Lorenzo as Miong; Tess Aquino; Andrew Wolff; Carlo Guevarra; Sophia Baar as Young Josephine; and, Joseph Andrei Garcia as Binoy.
Don’t forget the date, August 11 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida.

Noli de Castro leads Pulse Asia Survey on 2010 Elections
It’s kabayan Noli de Castro on the lead at the latest Pulse Asia Survey for Presidentiables this coming Elections 2010. Shortly following is former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada followed by a tie between Senators Francis “Chiz” Escudero and the beautiful Loren Legarda.
Senator Legarda got interviewed by ABS-CBN as to her opinion of Vice President de Castro being number one on the said survey, and she said it’s because Noli is the lone administration 2010 Presidentiable, whereas they are many in the opposition. It will be remembered that the two had a falling out last election because of some issues regarding election returns.
Moreover, the Survey shows that Erap magic is still there - that’s he is still popular with the masses, and probably with the other unmentionable elites who might be fed up with the current administration. Maybe the people havent had enough of Erap, especially since his administration got cut off abruptly due to some unfortunate (or fortunate, depending on who’s reading) turn of events.
So far, we only have one confirmed Presidentiable, and that’s Bayani Fernando… With the interview about this Pulse Asia Survey, looks like Vice-President Noli’s gonna be one as well.
So who’s gonna be the opposition candidate?
Your guess is as good as ours here at TheFilipinoWeb

David Cook in Manila
David Cook’s coming to Manila on January 27!
And we all sing, “Boy, dont you know you can’t escape us!”
It’s in the news that the latest American Idol, David Cook, is gonna come over early next year, again, January 27, 2009 to be exact, for a concert. The venue’s yet to be announced, but the Pinoy Cookies, for sure, are already excited!
David’s a super favorite here in the metro during the American Idol Competition… Posts about him swarm many filipino online message boards, even when Filipina Ramielle Malubay’s still on the running. David’s had a lot of Filipinas “at hello”, and we are all willing to be his babies.. always… hahaha!
So far, we already have had two idols in Manila — paparapapap Jasmine Trias, and then now, Chris Daughtry (with his band, Daughtry). Add David come January, and we have the idol trinity. lol.
Hooked on Cook!

DFA Launches E-Passport
Terrorists beware!
The country is doing its best to tighten security at the Philippine airports with an E-passport. The hightech passport, to be released by the Department of Foreign Affairs, is a bit bulkier than the ordinary paper-cardboard passport cause it has a built-in microchip at the back. The chip would contain information about the passport owner/holder.
People would just have to go and apply at kiosks that would be stationed at the malls, and most likely DFA offices. No price yet, just that it would cost much higher than the regular passport (obviously, cause of the chip).
Well, that chip’s not cheap… Afterall, safety has a price.
The modernization of the passport system is in compliance with the standards set by the International Civil Aviations Organization (ICAO) where all countires must have machine-readable passports by April 2010.
This one’s good, i just hope that there’s more than a gazillion codes before a super hacker “hacks” the system, and steals all the information about all Pinoy e-passport holders… or worst, steal their identities, and then do bad things.
Cause you know, technology can either be a great friend, or an evil enemy.
So what’s next? Built-in microchips in our bodies?
