Sunday Gospel
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 7:1-8.14-15.21-23.
Now when the Pharisees with some scribes who had come from Jerusalem gathered around him,
they observed that some of his disciples ate their meals with unclean, that is, unwashed, hands.
(For the Pharisees and, in fact, all Jews, do not eat without carefully washing their hands, keeping the tradition of the elders.
And on coming from the marketplace they do not eat without purifying themselves. And there are many other things that they have traditionally observed, the purification of cups and jugs and kettles (and beds).)
So the Pharisees and scribes questioned him, “Why do your disciples not follow the tradition of the elders but instead eat a meal with unclean hands?”
He responded, “Well did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me;
In vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines human precepts.’
You disregard God’s commandment but cling to human tradition.”
He summoned the crowd again and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand.
Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that come out from within are what defile.”
From within people, from their hearts, come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder,
adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly.
All these evils come from within and they defile.”

Automated Elections on 2010
It’s go go go automated elections next year!
Looks like we’re really going high tech this coming 2010 elections… the problem with the acquisition of the machines is now over, and the latest is that IT professionals will be helping the volunteer teachers out on the big day itself.
Which I think is really necessary as not all teachers know desktops, laptop computers and stuff… more so a new machine. They might panic if something happens (which might even further delay the canvassing of results, if ever).
Haaay.. but I really hope that the machines will function well cause if not, it would really be a total waste of tax payers money. Imagine having to pay gazillions of pesosesoses for just a few days (when they could have bought hospital machines, or build more classrooms).
Erap and Escudero for 2010?
Would you vote for them?
Cause chances are, former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada and Senator Francis Chiz Escudero will be running mates… Erap said that if ever he wont be able to unite the opposition to support a single Presidential candidate, he would run… and, of all the other vice presidentiables, he wants Chiz.
He picks Senator Escudero over Senator Loren Legarda and Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay.
Well, unity starts at home (or at the party). If one cant do it there, how can one unite the rest of the country… Just thinking out loud. I better get my skin id, errr, voter’s id.
Be counted! Be heard!
Bus Accidents
We really cant tell if it’s the end of the road for us… but we can atleast somehow prevent accidents, right?
Heard that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is really angry with what recently happened — the bus accident where nine people died and a lot more, about 40, got injured. The President ordered DOTC Secretary Leandro Mendoza to implement measures to prevent any other accident like that happening soon (and well, for the rest of our lives), and also immediately called a stakeholders meeting.
The franchises of the bus companies were already suspended by LTFRB Chairman Alberto Suansing… and I believe criminal charges (reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide and serious physical injuries and damage to properties) have been filed to the driver involved. Abroad, I believe they have something like Tacoma car accident lawyer.. i wonder if there’s one too in the Philippines.
Be safe!
