About the Blogger

This space is a venue for self-expression, a release, an outlet for insanity squeezed thru inspiration and, well, most of the times, the lack thereof. - me

Hiyee! This is Iva, and I am your host. Hehehe. Okay, serious now… I started blogging at around 2002, when portals and message boards were the “in-thing”, and blinkies were hot cyber commodities.

I’m a communications specialist by profession, and a graphic artist on-the-side. I’m a technical writer (ows? haha!), a lecturer (ows no. 2!), and an all-around handygirl — the last part, I’m just kidding. Anyway, if you’ve already met me, err, my serious “me”, this blog might give you a glimpse on who I am when not at work. Hahaha!

So, I bet by now, it’s clear that this blog is more like a little “part” of me. I love the media and almost everything about it, and I find it fun to observe how things are developing in the local industry. Plus, I guess it has a lot to do with me being a frustrated media personality (masscom grad here, but not in the media… only a bit).

Anyway, I put up TheFilipinoWeb initially as a pet project, with my friend, Etten, to promote the love for everything Pinoy! But I’ve been solo for like the two months after this blog’s launch.

Just wanna make it known that the Filipinos are a great group of people, and that we are making a huge impact in this world. So, from time to time, we feature Pinoys worth admiring — yep, like the young sudoku champion, or Gemberly, the Pinay Puzzle Queen (If you wanna be featured, just drop us an email at admin @ thefilipinoweb.com)!

By the way, if you think you’re worth a feature here, say, you’re someone with loads of talent, or you have an event coming up, just drop me a line… and i’ll try to hook up with you..

Thanks muchos! Maraming salamat, po.
