Kapuso Diether Ocampo
ABS-CBN kapamilya homegrown talent Diether Ocampo’s now a kapuso. My initial reaction was a shocked, “huwaaat!?”

Ricky Lo reports that Diet signed a maximum four-year contract with GMA Network where he’ll be doing koreanovela adaptations, host some stuff, and of course, movies. It was also mentioned that his first project is All About Eve with Iza Calzado. By the way, Diet just finished Iisa Pa Lamang in ABS-CBN, opposite Claudine Barretto.
Will this be a good move on Diet’s part? Hmmnn… But I know Diet’s one of the well-loved guys in the kapamilya channel, as in he’s loved by all, so for sure, the kapuso folks would love him just as much.

The Burn After Reading Premier Experience
Last night, some bloggers got the chance to watch the advance screening of Burn After Reading – a witty, funny movie featuring a lot of old people, topbilled by “the” John Malkovich, Brad Pitt, and George Clooney included. Mygulay, what happened to them? All the “sexy” in them got sucked out in this movie.

Anyway, I arrived there on time — 6:30 as written in the email, registered, got two tickets, ate, and then watched the movie. Like what Ive mentioned in the Nuffnang blog, I was there for a movie date with my mom, who was even first in line. lol. Nuffnang gave away a few gift certificates, one for the first blogger to have written about the contest, the other for the “early bird”, and the last, randomly won by miss gorgeous. Maybe next time, there’d be an opportunity for the bloggers to introduce themselves, so we’d know who’s who… Para di na feeling close, close na talaga. oha.
The movie’s fun.. (not as fun as playing with the PS3, but fun in a weird way… hehehe. it was twisted in all corners. It’s the only film I saw where philanderers get to continue their ways, while the “good guys” got all butchered and killed… not to mention that the vain gets to fulfill their wishes no matter what the cost. It also reveals how nobodys remain as such, nobody cares about them — not even the cia. toinks.
Super farce.
PS: I kinda already knew that the film’s gonna be magulo in a way, and it will be abruptly cut. A friend from Jam88.3 told me this, cause they had a premier the day before. He actually offered to give me some tickets for their premier, but politely declined since I “knew” I was going to get some from nuffnang. Talk about positive thinking.

My first Sony experience is with my Sony Handycam
It’s a handycam, yes, but it’s more than just that… It’s a weaver of dreams, and of memories.
See, I was a college senior when I first got this cam (was a gift from my parents). They bought it cause I need it — we had to come up with a film for our Film Production subject.
So there we were, all eight of us — Ryan, Joana, Lowla, Dexter, Bel, Nadea, Kiko, and me (of course)… off to Pantihan, Maragondon, Cavite to shoot. We were armed with our costumes, lamps, our script, and of course, my Sony handycam.
Our film’s called Anino sa Buwan (Shadow in the Moon). It’s a suspense thriller (written by Ryan), and is about a barrio lady seeking revenge cause she got raped and killed. There were a lot of things going on in the film — there’s voodoo, spiritualism, old beliefs — birth, love, and death.

Screen Captures of Anino sa Buwan
First Part of the film (around 6 mins, but with the color bars). Click here for part 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
We must have been really, really creative that we won majority of the awards — eight to be exact, including Best Picture, which was no easy feat considering the fact that we have, as one of the judges, “the” Roy Iglesias, our professor… who has, himself, written several films, including Mano Po, Ang Babae sa Bintana, Feng Shui, Prosti, Ako Legal Wife, among many others. I mean, he has the eye, and he knows what he’s doing…
Now, that’s us in the picture holding our trophies (the old lady’s the proud mom of Nadea, the one in red), and was taken almost ten years ago. None of us really did get to become a filmmaker — although one, Ryan, gets into tv broadcasting from time to time. Most have chosen an entirely different field, one became a full-time mom, and one — our main actress, Joana (the one beside the old lady), has now gone to heaven.
The handycam is a weaver of memories… for the film is the only physical remembrance we have of Joana. On her funeral, her mom’s request was to have a copy of the film. Through it, my friend was immortalized.
When all is gone, it is the memory that stays forever… we just have to go on with the flow, embrace whatever’s being given to us.
… but as always, we have to move forward… My Sony Handycam definitely gave significance in my life just like Sony’s World’s First Noise Canceling Notebook Computer cause as things change, this is something that could help me — help me now as I venture into another aspect of my persona –as a writer and as a graphic artist.

Marian Rivera, Ginebra San Miguel’s 2009 Calendar Girl
GMA Kapuso network darling, Marian Rivera, is Ginebra San Miguel’s 2009 Calendar Girl.

The company chose Marian cause, obviously, she’s one of the popular girls around… and proof that she’s the “in thing” now are the many intrigues about her — you know, the third party thing with Dingdong and Karylle, and then there’s the towel issue… but know what, we’re not really part of her private life so it’s not for us to judge. The people who are talking sht about her might be wrong all these time diba? She looks sweet kasi and pilya (naughty).
So naughty that she said Dingdong’s her only love in last Sunday’s SOP. Fearless!Ayos!
Other sexy ladies who graced the San Miguel calendar are Iwa Moto, Maureen Larrazabal, Belinda Bright, Maricar de Mesa, Aubrey Miles, Rica Peralejo, Geneva Cruz, Patricia Javier, and Angelica Panganiban.
Marian’s really a hot commodity now… FHM could wait…
