Kamp Kalikasan at the La Mesa EcoPark

June 19, 2010 · Filed Under event · 2 Comments

For all Metro Manila-dwellers wanting to do a nature-trip but do not have the time to go to the provinces, just visit the La Mesa EcoPark. They have a lot to offer — from boating to swimming, to their fitness trail to zip-lining! You could even go there for your photo-shoots.

We recently had our two-day Kamp Kalikasan activity there (thanks EcoPark!) where student leaders (and teachers) from select Metro Manila High Schools got treated to fun workshops like Decoupage, Storybook Illustration, T-shirt Design and Printing, and Acting. The workshops were slanted to fit our theme which is about protecting the environment to save biodiversity.

The kids (and teachers) were also treated to a boating session and an e-jeepney tour around the park, as well as to a lot of freebies. The best three teams were also handed goodies (chips and chocolate, yes, kids love that!).

The Kamp was organized by the Environmental Management Bureau, and was made possible through the generous help of Holcim Philippines and AECOM. They sure made a lot of kids happy.

On a side note, man, I could get featured over at weightlossstories.org… I feel like I’ve lost some weight just these past two days of camp. The kids were so active!

Til the next camp! Thanks everybody! :)

June 30, Nonworking Holiday

No work on June 30! Yipee!

Outgoing President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has set probably the last among all her holiday declaration. It’s this June 30, in time for President-elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s inaugural at the Quirino Grandstand (also, Vice President-elect Jejomar Binay).

There’s also gonna be a street party at night at the Quezon Memorial Circle — the same place where President Noy had his grand sortie along with his VP candidate Mar Roxas. I love the news especially since I work near the area, so the holiday announcement’s a surefire way for me to avoid the heavy traffic that would happen that date.

Anyway, I’m all for good vibes. I sincerely wish that President Noy will be able to battle the cancer (yes, almost like an Asbestos cancer) that’s been plaguing our nation — lack of love. Let’s help bring back the love for our country… so we would all be able to love — and not hurt our people.

Arnel Pineda on Pacquiao-Clottey fight

March 13, 2010 · Filed Under event · Comment

Filipino singer, Arnel Pineda, is now in Texas for the Pacquiao-Clottey fight. The Journey frontman will be singing the Philippine National Anthem. I hope he’s as much of a “lucky star” as the La Divas who sang the anthem during Pacquiao’s last fight.

Anyway, another good news, was happy that it rained yesterday! Our country needs that. Hopefully, that would signal the end of El Nino.

Team Philippines! Team Pacquiao!

Pacquiao versus Clottey

Let’s get it on! Graawwwrrlll! lol!

It’s the fight we’ve all been waiting for (lol, again)… It’s Clottey versus Pacquiao! Woot! Saw the news last night and man, Clottey looks adorable. He’s all smiling, and even says he admires our Pinoy boxer. Oh, he’s so adorable to the point that I almost want him to win. Of course, im just joking. Hehehe.

Anyway, it’s gonna be this coming March 14 (oh no, it’s on Sunday na!) so get your laptops ready for livestream (hehehe) and your tv (delayed telecast via gma and solar sports) ready for some action. Also make sure you dont kick and pound as hard so your tv stands wont get “boxed out”.

Team Pacquiao for the win!

Update: Yay! Victory for team Pilipinas! Woot!
