New Year Gospel

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 2:16-21.

So they went in haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger.

When they saw this, they made known the message that had been told them about this child.

All who heard it were amazed by what had been told them by the shepherds.

And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.

Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them.

When eight days were completed for his circumcision, he was named Jesus, the name given him by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

I Have Fallen In Love

Lyrics by Ninoy Aquino
Music by Jose Mari Chan

I have fallen in love
With the same woman three times
In a day spanning nineteen years
Of tearful joys and joyful tears.

I loved her first when she was young
Enchanting and vibrant, eternally new
She was brilliant, fragrant and cool
As the morning dew.

I fell in love with her the second time
When first she bore her child and mine
Always by my side, the source of my strength
Helping to turn the tide.

But there were candles to burn
The world was my concern
While our home was her domain
And the people were mine
While the children were hers to maintain.

So it was in those eighteen years and a day
Till I was detained
Forced in prison to stay.

Suddenly she’s our sole support
Source of comfort
Our wellspring of hope
On her shoulders fell the burden of life.

I fell in love again
With the same woman the third time
Looming from the battle
Her courage will never fade.

Amidst the hardships she has remained
Undaunted and unafraid
She is calm, composed
She is God’s lovely maid.

This is a poem written by the late Ninoy Aquino for her wife, former President Corazon Aquino. So much love between them, we can see, and how tough Mrs. Aquino has been, throughout the years. She has survived a lot of trials, her life has been full, she loves just as much as she is loved –maybe even more. Hopefully, from this, more Filipinos will be made more away of sickness, and that there’d be an even better colonetix, to help all afflicted with it — especially the poor.

Prayers for the former President.

Filipinos Unite

There’s this Filipinos Unite prayer that has been going around the pinoy blogosphere… and I would like to share it with you, as this was shared by my friends, Mike and Mercedes

This is a Prayer from my friend, Mike

Dear heavenly Father, we consecrate to you our beloved country- the Philippines and all the Filipinos around the world. We acknowledge Father that apart from You, we can do nothing and it is only your divine providence and grace that can unite all Filipinos as one nation. We therefore humble ourselves before your throne. We confess all our sins to you individually and collectively as a nation. Forgive us our sins Father and wash us clean by the precious blood of Your beloved Son- Jesus Christ. Mend our wicked ways and let us experience a strong and genuine spiritual revival for ourselves and for our country. Let the Holy Spirit imbibe us with power, love and wisdom to return to Your path of holiness and righteousness. Bless our country, heavenly father. Bless all Filipinos wherever they maybe. Let progress, unity, harmony, stability, justice, peace and prosperity reign in our country.

Bless our leaders, from the President down to the lowest Barangay official. Touch their hearts that they may serve our country with all honesty and with love and integrity. Bless our children and our future generation. And bless us all Father in all aspects of our lives. This we pray to You heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.

Amen.

… I hope we can all unite and pray… and so, my simple request to the readers of thefilipinoweb, is to spare a few minutes of your time to say this prayer — for our country, and our people.

This is actually a prayer tag for the Philippines and the Filipinos. It is a noble idea of a blogger, I dont know who, but I would like to spread this “Filipinos Unite” prayer to Filipinos the world over, whether a blogger or not.

With God, nothing is impossible.

This is love…

This is something I believe everybody should watch… i got it from femalenetwork…

It’s a very touching story of love

A son asked his father, “Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?” The father who, despite having a heart condition, says “Yes”. They went on to complete the marathon together.

Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying ‘Yes’ to his son’s request of going through the race together.

One day, the son asked his father, “Dad, let’s join the Ironman together.” To which, his father said “Yes” too. For those who don’t know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island .

Father and son went on to complete the race together.

Now, please watch this… this is the father, and his son…
