The Burn After Reading Premier Experience

November 19, 2008 · Filed Under blogging, movies · 6 Comments

Last night, some bloggers got the chance to watch the advance screening of Burn After Reading – a witty, funny movie featuring a lot of old people, topbilled by “the” John Malkovich, Brad Pitt, and George Clooney included. Mygulay, what happened to them? All the “sexy” in them got sucked out in this movie. :D

Brad Pitt

Anyway, I arrived there on time — 6:30 as written in the email, registered, got two tickets, ate, and then watched the movie. Like what Ive mentioned in the Nuffnang blog, I was there for a movie date with my mom, who was even first in line. lol. Nuffnang gave away a few gift certificates, one for the first blogger to have written about the contest, the other for the “early bird”, and the last, randomly won by miss gorgeous. Maybe next time, there’d be an opportunity for the bloggers to introduce themselves, so we’d know who’s who… Para di na feeling close, close na talaga. oha. :D

The movie’s fun.. (not as fun as playing with the PS3, but fun in a weird way… hehehe. it was twisted in all corners. It’s the only film I saw where philanderers get to continue their ways, while the “good guys” got all butchered and killed… not to mention that the vain gets to fulfill their wishes no matter what the cost. It also reveals how nobodys remain as such, nobody cares about them — not even the cia. toinks.

Super farce.

PS: I kinda already knew that the film’s gonna be magulo in a way, and it will be abruptly cut. A friend from Jam88.3 told me this, cause they had a premier the day before. He actually offered to give me some tickets for their premier, but politely declined since I “knew” I was going to get some from nuffnang. Talk about positive thinking. :D

John Lloyd Cruz and Luis Manzano Kissing Scene

November 15, 2008 · Filed Under movies · 4 Comments

Mga bading, magfiesta! (Gays, celebrate!)

kiss!!!

There are talks that John Lloyd Cruz and Luis Manzano will be having a kissing scene in their upcoming film. Yep, the two will do the brokeback thing, and i hope it’s more than a smack. Hahaha!

Anyway, I think both guys would be laughing hard doing the shoot — i dunno, i just have this feeling that they’re both fun guys… and that when this movie’s done with the shoot, and they’ll be promoting, the two would just “play” with the press, and act giddy. Hmmnn..

And one more thing… Will Luis’ mom, Governor Vilma Santos-Recto, be there to watch the “soon-to-be controversial” scene? — cause she’s there in the movie too.

Spying Over Burn After Reading

November 13, 2008 · Filed Under blogging, movies · 5 Comments

burn after reading

Nuffnang bloggers unite! Our “mother agency” (hehehe) is organizing our very first movie premier — and the film featured is Fafa Brad Pitt’s Burn After Reading. It’s gonna be on November 18 (that’s a Tuesday at 7:30pm) at the Robinsons Movie World, Robinsons Galleria.

So why do I wanna watch this film… Let me count the reasons:

1. It’s always great to see new films. Am not really a fan of fafa Brad nor George Clooney, but I know the makers of this film (the brothers) are award-winning, so maybe, this would be something worthy to watch.
2. It’s a movie premier — and a premier for a fun spy movie featuring “sexy” men… Plus, a lot of good things come during premiers.
3. It’s an opportunity to meet bloggers (I only know a few, Im shy kasi hehehe :D )
4. It would be a fun treat for my movie buddy! Bonding time!!!
5. And the super honest reason? If I could get in for free, why not! Hehehe!

The Burn After Reading Movie Premiere is made possible by Nuffnang Philippines Inc. in cooperation with Viva Entertainment Inc and Robinsons Movie World.

Movie addicts, better watch out!

PS: A movie with sexy men? Somebody give me some dietpills! Hahaha!

Critically-acclaimed Filipino film, Himala (trans. Miracle), is the best Asia Pacific movie of all time. Astig!!!

… and if you’re from Mars and you dont know this movie, here’s one quote from the movie:

“Walang Himala! Ang himala ay nasa puso ng tao… ang himala ay nasa puso nating lahat.”
(trans. “There is no miracle but the one in the heart of a person… It is in all of our hearts!”)

… and it’s no simple feat for Himala got chosen over other Asian super movies like China’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Chungking Express, and Infernal Affairs; Japan’s The Seven Samurai and Spirited Away; Australia’s Gallipoli; India’s Pather Panchali ; South Korea’s Old Boy; and Iran’s Gabbeh. Grabeh!!!

Himala is directed by Ishmael Bernal and written by Ricky Lee. It was released in 1982.
