Alice in Wonderland 3d
“It is better to be feared than loved” — not!

Just watched Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland in 3d, and it was good.
If you’re expecting a story based on the Disney classic, then you’ll be disappointed to see the film all kinda gloomy and dark — true to Burton’s style. This film, Alice in “Underland”, is more for the adults — and has more “depth” than the novel it was based on (which basically’s just a series of weird things happening on top of each other).
I love almost everything about the movie — especially the scene when Alice fell from the tree, and everything went dark, and things just got all weird. It’s almost like we are gonna be hit (the kid beside me kept on “avoiding” the ‘boxes’ ) by all those stuff flying everywhere. I love the Red Queen, the Mad Hatter, Dee-Dum (my friend asked my why Humpty Dumpy was there lol), love the chess army, love this version of “cards”.
There are only two things I didnt really like about the movie. First, the White Queen’s makeup — I mean Anne Hathaway’s makeup (makeup talaga eh ahaha!). Seems she was the only one without “post production” done — could see her eyebags and her dark undereye circles. I was kinda hoping she’d be glowing at least a little… since everything in the underland’s supposed to be a bit “surreal”. Last, how come there are instances when the “background” goes blurred? I mean, I’m supposed to watch it as if im there, right? My vision’s not perfect but I wish they didnt automatically “blur” areas for me.
Aside from that, i really, really, really love the movie. I recommend you guys to watch it on 3d. There’s one in SM Edsa, 400 pesosesoses a seat.
Wapakman International Release?
So Pinoy boxing superstar Manny “the Pacman” Pacquiao will be having his movie, Wapakman, shown this Christmas, as part of this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. The trailer looks good… now, given Pacquiao’s status as an international sensation, I wonder if the movie’s going to be released even outside the country.
It would be fun, right? He’d be like wrestlers who’s become actors. Hehehe.
Anyway, Wapakman’s where all the intrigues happened — i mean the Krista Ranillo rumor. If only the girls involved are as thick as bricks, they wouldnt feel a thing.. but no, they’re like pretty ceramic tiles, needed to be placed gently, or else they would crack.
Course, this has a lot to do with publicity, as it always has been in the country — people trying to link the leads of a movie even if they’re not really together. It probably was the strategy even before Paraluman’s era.
Now, the question everybody’s asking… will Jinky watch Wapakman — at the premier night?
What do you think guys?
Ang Misis Kong Aswang Movie
Enteng Kabisote must probably be tired for this year’s Vic Sotto Metro Manila Film Festival entry is not Okay Ka Fairy Ko but Ang Misis Kong Aswang.
I saw a teaser (i think that’s during Manny Pacquiao’s boxing match) featuring Vic Sotto and Ritchie the Horsey running, then there’s this sexy “manananggal” flying towards them. The “manananggal” kidnaps Vic, lifts him somewhere, and then Vic says something i forgot (okay, this is not helping… hehehe). The woman’s face hasnt been revealed yet but reports say its Christine Reyes. If that’s the case, I would want to take some appetite suppressants so my body would be as sexy as Christine’s.
Anyway, Ang Misis Kong Aswang is produced by Octo Arts and MZet Films.
Piolo Pascual and Rosanna Roces in Manila
Please watch the film, Manila, by Directors Raya Martin and Adolfo Alix, Jr. The Film is part of the Official Selection, Festival de Cannes 2009; Official Selection, Moscow International Film Festival 2009; and the Opening Film in the Cinemalaya V.
