SSS Online

Wow! I’m loving the new SSS Online!

It’s been a long while since I logged there, and it’s a surprise to see the improvements — and it’s not just the layout ha. For all SSS members, check it for yourself. Just register, and then log in. You’ll see details like your member details, actual contribution, employment history, and more.

I’ve shifted to voluntary membership since i got into freelance, but I havent been able to dutifully pay my contribution (lol) because I am just plain lazy to do it hehehe. But I realize I wanna fix things, so I checked and well, I got the info I need. Now, all i have to do is just go and pay. I’m also happy to see that my membership is still “active”.

I like SSS cause it’s like a no exam life insurance — something like that. Like a pension. Anyway, just go and check your SSS membership status online. The url is sss.gov.ph

Health Care in the Philippines

August 16, 2010 · Filed Under personal · Comment

I just got back from the hospital after a follow-through check-up for my eyes. You see, I got rushed to the emergency section of the hospital cause I was really, really dizzy… The doctors checked me up, and seeing I have no fever, no high blood (to sum it, im really just all normal), they called in the ENT to see if it’ s vertigo.

The release papers say Vertigo is to be considered, so just to check if it’s my eyes (i wear glasses, im myopic), I went to see my opthalmologist today. And true enough, she said my being dizzy is not because of my eyes. So she said must be vertigo.

Anyway, every trip to the hospital makes me realize how health cards and social security disability insurances are important. The country has a lot of private companies offering that (mine, included), but I wish the day would come when all Pinoys could just go to the hospital and not have to worry if they have money in their pockets to pay for health care.

That would be nice.

MMDA Caught on Video

Omigosh!

I’m watching the news right now and there’s this one Boto Patroller who allegedly got victimized by a kotong MMDA officer… and it’s all been caught on cam. Great, like a cell phone spy

I remember there’s this incident two years ago (maybe just one). I was in a cab with my mom and an officemate, on our way home, when the cab kinda got broken (and we’re in the middle of the highway). So the driver did his best to move the cab to the side (unsuccesfully though) so we wont get hit by buses or whatever. In about a minute or so, this one MMDA tow-service stopped on us, and just when we taught they’re gonna help the driver move the cab to the side, lo and behold, one of them got inside the car, steered the wheels, towed the cab, with the three of us still inside. We were screaming as the cab gets lifted while we we’re there. Apparently, the new driver got irritated, we stopped on the road side and he let us out…

The poor cab driver kept pleading to them to just release the car but they wont. I maybe wrong but I think they’re after the money. Anyway, I hope they’re no longer with MMDA for these guys absolutely were power-tripping.

Ayaw ni Pnoy ng ganyan.
