The Philippines Bids Zorayda Sanchez Goodbye


The Philippines has lost yet another showbiz personality.

ABS-CBNnews reports that veteran comedian Zorayda Sanchez passed away on Wednesday due to cancer. Her wake is said to be in Angono Rizal.

For young people who probably have not seen Miss Zorayda Sanchez in the boobtube, she was a mainstay in “Goin’ Bananas” alongside Christopher de Leon, Jay Ilagan (RIP), Johnny Delgado, Edgar Mortiz, and Al Tantay. She was one of the female leads in the show, along with Whitney Tyson. Miss Zoraida has also appeared in movies like Perang Kabayo, Takot Ako, Working Girls, and Bagets.

Not too many people know but Miss Zorayda is (was) a writer at the Manila Bulletin. Used to see her there, wheneer we do researches back in college.

Truly, the Philippines has a lot to be thankful for, for having such an intelligent comedian that is Miss Zorayda.
