Ploning at the UP Film Institute
There’s gonna be two special screenings of Ploning at the UP Film Institute this Wednesday, November 26… One at 5 and the other at 7:30 pm.
Here’s the detail:
The film was the Official Selection at the 6th Paris Cinema International Film Festival on the 5th of July 2008. It was also the Official Selection at the 1st Hong Kong Asian Independent Film Festival which was recently shown on 16th and 21st of November 2008. It is also featured in competition at the International Film Festival of India. It was nominated at the Asian Festival of First Films in Singapore for Best Film, Best Director at Best Screenplay. And then as a prelude to the OSCARS, the Palm Springs Film Festival is the festival where all films ‘For Consideration’ in Oscars will be screened. You heard that right. Ploning is the Official Philippine Entry to the Best Foreign Film Category of the 81st Academy Awards. And we may have a great chance of clinching that nomination! Watch the movie and spread the word!
There will be an Open Mic session at the end of each film screening, as the CAST and CREW will be THERE. No really, they are coming to UP just to answer your questions.
The special screening is proudly brought to you by KAISA-Nagkakaisang Iskolar para sa Pamantasan at Sambayanan in cooperation with PANORAMANILA and UP FILM Institute. Admission is set at only Php 80 for UP students, and Php 100 for Non UP.
So again, catch not just ONE, but TWO (2) PLONING SPECIAL SCREENINGS on NOVEMBER 26, Wednesday 5pm and 730pm, at the UP FILM INSTITUTE.
