Francine is Back

This morning’s celebrity news is kinda sad, yet okay. It’s about sexy comedian Francine Prieto being helped by her showbiz friends. Her dearest mom’s sick with cancer, and she needs to raise a million peso for the medical expenses.

It’s really heartwarming that there are friends who are more than willing to help in time of need. Cancer is no joke, and if you got no insurance coverage or health card, it would be harder (so you should go get life insurance quotes and health cards, asap!).

But at least Francine is getting jobs na — since the start of the Chinese New Year (that’s according to her, of course). Hope her mom gets well, and for her to have her career back on track.

Panagbenga 2010

Went to Baguio over the weekend for the Panagbenga Flower Festival in Baguio, and well, all I could say is I really hope there was more.

I was expecting it to be really grand, being Panagbenga’s 15th anniversary, but I was disappointed. We opted to pay the 50-peso seats, and realized that we could not view “properly” because two lanes were used. Couldnt take good photos cause there were “slr photographers” all over. The floats were so-so, there’s even one that’s got super “few” flowers (like smb’s?). Thought it was too commercialized.

But of course, who am I to complain (lol, after all the whining hehehe) there must be a reason. Regardless, kudos to the organizers cause I know it really is hard to put up a major event like this.

I love Baguio, it’s one of my fave places in the country, so I hope next year would be better. Hehehe. Would have wanted to have Panagbenga custom travel mugs to give to my fam as pasalubong, but cant find so I just bought toys and stuff.

Sunday Gospel

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 9:28-36.

About eight days after he said this, he took Peter, John, and James and went up the mountain to pray.

While he was praying his face changed in appearance and his clothing became dazzling white.

And behold, two men were conversing with him, Moses and Elijah, who appeared in glory and spoke of his exodus that he was going to accomplish in Jerusalem.

Peter and his companions had been overcome by sleep, but becoming fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.

As they were about to part from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good that we are here; let us make three tents, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” But he did not know what he was saying.

While he was still speaking, a cloud came and cast a shadow over them, and they became frightened when they entered the cloud.

Then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my chosen Son; listen to him.”

After the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. They fell silent and did not at that time tell anyone what they had seen.
