The 2008 Top Ten Filipino Expats and OFW Bloggers

… and the winner is…
Writing on Air, Australia by Jim Paredes.
Wow! Congratulations po… It just shows how real an artist Sir Jim is… a super musician, a photographer, and a writer… and there’s probably more. Astig. Sayang cause the closest I got to Sir Jim was having this one chance to have a picture taken with him (not really him, but a picture of him — the APO actually, hehe.) inside Thirdline, Inc. with the Dmitri peeps. Ah, fun times!

Anyway, here are excerpts from the BlogAwards official blog regarding Writing on Air:
“Meaningful and inspiring posts”… “Brings out pride in being Filipino”… Writing on Air has depth and substance. Jim’s blog is brilliant and inspiring. His take on issues around the world and as well as personal experiences are culturally enriching as a Filipino. “The lay-out and design is clean” Some of the judges notes about Jim Paredes blog.
The blog was voted seven times to the Top 10, twice as No. 1, three times as No. 2, and twice again as No. 3. As per the judges verdict, his blog is No. 1 in blog content, No. 1 in the Blog Element, No. 2 in the Visibility and Metrics, No. 4 in the Voting/Popularity category, and No 1 in the Over All Judges Pick.

The Francis M and Ely Buendia Album
“Life is more than motion, it is music; more than rest, it is Peace; more than work, it is Duty; more than labour, it is Love.”

I dont know who said this but it has been my favorite quote since… Anyways, in connection, two of the country’s music superstars, Master Rapper Francis Magalona and Rockstar Ely Buendia, are collaborating for an album, for a cause.
Diane Ventura (Ely’s manager and partner), in a GMA report, said that the two had already recorded their first song.
The album’s sort of gonna be a ticket for them to start a foundation for other musicians who might get sick… It’s something Francis M wants, which is very commendable considering the fact that he’s going through something right now… It’s really very selfless on his part to do this, so I say we should all get a copy of the album once it gets out.
Check your Hamilton watches or whatevs, it’s not gonna be long for sure and we’ll all have a chance to help them out as well…
May we all have a blessed 2009!

Another Girl for Manny Pacquiao

It’s a baby girl for super boxer Manny (and wife Jinky) Pacquiao…
… a baby queen to be exact cause the couple named her “Queen Elizabeth”. Reports say that the baby weighs 7.9 lbs and that it was Manny who cut her umbilical cord. Queen Elizabeth was born at the Los Angeles Metropolitan Hospital in California.
The baby’s the fourth addition to the Pacquiao kids…
For sure, Queen’s the best gift for Pacquiao this Christmas… no match for any other sports gifts out there…
Congratulations!

Wedding
Too many events to attend to this month… aside from the parties and reunions, two of my friends also got married… Oh no, panic attack.
My friend, Cheeanne’s the first to tie the knot with her bestfriend (aww)… It’s a super sweet thing, what they did, cause nothing’s gonna top being married to your best guyfriend. It’s like the perfect auto insurance. Hehe.

And today, I just arrived home from yet another wedding… this time, it’s my friend Rio, who got married to Jon (another friend). It was a fun wedding, especially cause it’s also a reunion thing for me (us)… we havent seen each other for years (our friends included) and here’s one of us, now ready to be a wife.
Anyway, I had fun! Congratulations to you guys!
Cheers to a union that would last forever…
