How Pinoys Make Money Online
More and more Pinoys are joining the blog revolution. I remember when I had my first blog, it was around the time portals like grabeh and manilatonight are a hit, and blogging for money was still a far-fetched idea. I got bored and I abandoned my then domain.
About two years ago, a friend of mine said that I should reconsider putting up another blog, and I remember saying something like “blogs are a thing of the past”. He corrected me, and brought me to my blog senses. And, imagine my surprise when I learned from him that another friend of ours has the means to buy a car monthly from his blog earnings (well, plus some other web-related side projects, lol).
Now, who wouldnt want that? I know I do so here’s a few insight on how us Pinoys can make money online:
1. Blog! Well, didnt I just say that I know of someone who earns a lot from blogging? Plus, there are people like Bryanboy who got super duper ultra mega (yeah, that’s how much) lucky when no less than Marc Jacobs (omg) made him muse, even naming a bag after him. That one experience’s worth more than a gazillion adsense accounts!
Plus, blogging makes you sort of an ala-Cosmo (or any other popular mag), you get to be a “publisher”, AND, you get accounts from people, companies, what have you’s who would wanna advertise products on your site (cause you’re that good of a writer, and you’ve got more “readers” slash viewers than all the local tabloids and broadsheets combined.
And last, if you’re a willing slave, you could get others to hire you as a writer for their blogs. Of course, rate would depend on your expertise, and your “pagiging close” — that’s if you’re writing for a friend.
2. Sell Online! A lot of Pinoys now are into online shopping. Well, definitely not the way Americans do it, but more on checking pinoy online stores, making tawad, then meeting up (COD transaction, which is most preferred).

If you have lots of stuff (like kikay products, old books, cleaning essentials, ukays) or you’re too gifted that you have to share your talent to the rest of us, build an online store on free sites like multiply.com, or the purong Pinoy sulit.com, or join forum boards like entrepreneur.com.ph.
Just beware of scammers!
3. Be a web developer! If you’re geekier than the geekest web geek, why not try and be a web developer. Give us your rates (make it cheap) and design websites for the rest of us non-techies, make the world easier by offering adsense-ready templates, too. Or, you could develop a Filipino web hosting solution just like Mobilehive, and sell domains and provide hosting packages at super affordable rates everybody can afford.
See, it’s super easy to earn online! If you’re Pinoy, you’re definitely matalino and maabilidad so it definitely wouldnt be that hard for you!
What are you waitin for? Try these tips and start making money online now!
Goodluck!

I am blogging for more than a year from now. Practically, earning money was not the first thing that come to my mind. Maybe that is the reason why I did not earn any. It seems that earning through money through blogging is a reality but is it for everyone. I don’t thing so. Maybe for those who are really gifted in earning money or for those who would like blogging for business.
Yes, anybody would like to earn a few bucks, I hope I could also get a piece of that pie to sustained me in my apostolate. Anyway, thank you for giving me some insights on this matter. More power
Couldnt agree more, Father Jessie. I have this other blog, too, for about almost two years and it has yet to generate the amount that would be enough to leave food at the table. I guess it has something to do with its topic, so I just regarded it as an advocacy blog.
But of course, cheers to all Pinoy bloggers who’ve made money machines from their blogs. They must have been writing and marketing like hell. So props to them!
I am into blogging some months ago, but since I can not think of what content should I put in my blog, it’s a lazy thing that I stop. Also I was wondering how bloggers earn in it. As I stop blogging, I think of another way of making money online, and that is your #3, be a web developer! Full effort is needed to promote your site as well, from SEO until to the adsense optimization. Never stop optimizing LOL! The results is excellent, although we just only have one website, it’s earning $800-1500/month, enough to help our parents and pay our own tuition fee.
Pinoy is ABSOLUTELY matalino and maabilidad! Even we are in our teenagers years, we’re glad we are helping our parents just by making money online!!
I hope big time companies in the Philippines would see the benefits and advantage if they would advertise in our blogs. That would be the day! hehe
I am really inspired what is written here, also tried websites few years ago through affiliates but i didn’t do good maybe luck of time and research. But now I’m back again doing blogs, hope i reach a point that it can sustain our monthly expenses. More power to us mga pinoys! Kakatuwa kyo Ada, even in your young age your into business already!
Wow, Ada. Ang galing niyo! I think I wanna be a super web developer too, only if I have the talent. Hehe. Galing talaga. For sure, a lot of Pinoys would be inspired by you.
Geri, couldnt agree more.. Right now, big time companies are using blogs pero they’re targeting the more popular ones like Yugatech. I think we have the teen and the yuppie market. Use us! Use us! hehe.
Vhincent, just keep going.. who knows you might hit the pot. Think positive.
Thanks Ms. Admin and Vhincent. Yan ang bunga ng pagpapabaya samen ng parents namen sa harapan ng computer. Hehehe. Drop by in my email if you have something to ask. Feel free! *lurking*
Cheers,
Ada
Sure will, Miss Ada. Wait for our email. Hehehe. :p
I have been blogging since 2004 (I had only 1 blog then), but it’s only this year that I have considered blogging as a source of income. So I created different blogs to cater to different topics.
Unfortunately, the only income I get are a few scents from adsense, which is still so far from the payout amount. I can’t get any adviser as I don’t really get that much visitor hence my ranking is still far from an ‘advertiseable’ blog.
Still dreaming of earning from blogging someday.
Nice post. Thanks!
Will be back here to read some more
