NESCAFÉ Soundskool
These NESCAFÉ Soundskool semi-finalist bands, coming from the different parts of the country, 20 from Luzon (including Ateneo de Manila University, UP, De La Salle), 15 from Visayas (including University of San Carlos, University of Southern Philippines, University of Cebu), and 15 from Mindanao (including Ateneo de Davao, University of South Eastern Philippines, Holy Cross of Davao) will battle it out in the following bars: Ratsky in Manila for Luzon; Club Vudu in Cebu for Visayas; and The Venue in Davao for Mindanao. Only 10 bands from these 50 will make it to the finals and get weeklong training from the country’s top bands.

Black Dynamic wins in Battle of the Green Bands
Black Dynamic won big at the recently concluded Baga’t Hangin Musikahan “Not Cool to be Co2l” Battle of the Bands competition. They received a total of Php50,000 as first prize and Best Original Song award for their song “Pilipinas”, composed by band member Robert Encina, at the event which was held last June 29 at the Activity Center of SM North EDSA.
Black Dynamic is a rock and roll band from Parañaque City, members of which also include Andy Ronoco (vocalist), Jeffrey Robiego (guitarist), Cyril Pama (Bassist), Jazzer Bautista (keyboardist), and PJ Pangan (drummer).
Other bands who won are Kadangyan for second prize and Syalam for third prize. The Battle of the Bands is organized by the Environmental Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Lung Center of the Philippines, Energy and Clean Air Project of USAID, Dimitri Productions, in cooperation with SM North EDSA and GMA Kapuso Network. Sponsors also include PLDT Landline Plus and Nestle Philippines.
