Kanto Boys
Kanto Boys in Wowowee is a good idea. Hehehe.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the Kanto Boys in Wowowee yesterday — them being Billy Crawford, Luis Manzano, Vhong Navarro, and John Lloyd Cruz. The guys are not only fun, but are also somehow good looking.
Having them on the show kinda reminded me of the APO Hiking Society during the Sanlinggo na Po Sila days (oh my gosh, i feel old)… or even the Tito, Vic, and Joey Eat Bulaga troika. They could very well be the next hosts of Wowowee.
You know, it’s nice to see cute guys acting all giddy on tv. It could be like a temporary treatment for depression for many of its viewers.
Hehehe.
Cosmopolitan Top Ten Bachelor Centerfolds
It’s an annual thing… and a lot of girls (and gays!) are waiting for this Cosmo ish year after year.
We’ve already seen Luis Manzano, Richard Gutierrez, Zanjoe Marudo, and yeah, even Dennis Trillo, as centerfold guys.
This year, Cosmo has a new batch of hunks, the “it” guys… led by no less than new kapamilya, and international Pinoy artist Billy Crawford.
The others in the top ten are other kapamilya artists Derek Ramsay (we’re pretty sure we’ve seen him as a cosmo centerfold hunk before), Bruce Quebral (Big Brother, will you be in next year’s list?), Geoff Eigenmann (Cosmo must have seen him in Lobo), and Jon Avila (also a Big Brother ex-housemate).
Now, Paolo Contis is the lone kapuso who’s got “listed” (he’s a former kapamilya though, hehe)…
Model Akihiro Sato and basketball player Macky Escalona are in the list too, as well as First Pinoy Ford model Rocky Salumbides (he’s the hot one in the photo!), and Be Bench model finalist Ron Morales.

Pinoy Dream Academy
Filipinos are naturally gifted in music. We need not look far to see how gifted we are, just a videoke dvd in every home is enough proof that we are born to belt.
Apl of Black Eyed Peas, Nicole of Pussycat Dolls, Billy Crawford, Vanessa of Disney’s High School Musical, these are just a few of the Pinoys (some half) who made it big internationally.
So, it’s no wonder that Pinoy tv boasts of singing competitions even from way back (remember Bagong Kampeon?). Well, things have changed a bit, and now, wannabe singers dont just “sing” on-stage for a day, they get to stay in a big house, get mentored by the best people in the industry, and perform week after week (til they get the boot).
And they call it Pinoy Dream Academy.
Ive been watching the show since its first season, with Yeng Constantino emerging as the winner. From the first season, aside from yeng, only JR Siaboc and Ronnie Liang made it, maybe Irish too cause she was a bit player in Princess Sarah (but then, acting is different from singing). The other night, I heard that Panky’s going to represent the country in a “world” talent competition, think it’s where Jed Madela won.
Anyway, back to the academy… This season, things are a bit different. I see none of the composing songs the way Yeng did, cause the scholars are either goofing around, or they’re engaged in a bit of a catfight… The scholars this Season seemed too sure that they’re going out of the academy “famous”, which really shouldnt be.
I could hear a lot of good voices there, though. There’s Liezel (almost a grand slam star scholar), then Laarni (love how whe sounds, maybe she just needs to undergo personality development courses to resolve whatever issue she’s having). For the guys, I love Chivas’ voice and attitude on stage, but anxiety got him so he’s out.
I hope the scholars would be able to grow more as artists so when they get out, they’d be ready.
On a sidenote, the little dreamers are sooooooo cute, especially Philip. He is so bibo, so gwapo, so talented! Hope he wins!
