VP Binay, HUDCC Chair

July 15, 2010 · Filed Under opinion · Comment

I just read from the ABS-CBN web that Vice President Jejomar Binay is now the Chair of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC).

The news said that VP Binay has finally accepted President Noynoy Aquino’s offer for him to be one, although he originally wanted to be the Secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government. [It's weird seeing how government positions are like a dip bar for prominent personalities]… Anyway, personally, I pray that VP Binay will do great as HUDCC chair, and that he will be able to help everybody, atleast every family, have a decent shelter.

Anyway, with VP Binay there, and knowing how Makati is now, I’m one with the rest of the Filipinos who are hopeful that the Philippines will become an even better place for all of us. I hope they’d be great as partners — Pnoy and Binay. :)

June 30, Nonworking Holiday

No work on June 30! Yipee!

Outgoing President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has set probably the last among all her holiday declaration. It’s this June 30, in time for President-elect Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s inaugural at the Quirino Grandstand (also, Vice President-elect Jejomar Binay).

There’s also gonna be a street party at night at the Quezon Memorial Circle — the same place where President Noy had his grand sortie along with his VP candidate Mar Roxas. I love the news especially since I work near the area, so the holiday announcement’s a surefire way for me to avoid the heavy traffic that would happen that date.

Anyway, I’m all for good vibes. I sincerely wish that President Noy will be able to battle the cancer (yes, almost like an Asbestos cancer) that’s been plaguing our nation — lack of love. Let’s help bring back the love for our country… so we would all be able to love — and not hurt our people.

Noynoy Aquino and Mar Roxas for 2010

So it’s really gonna be a Noynoy Aquino and Mar Roxas tandem…

… and most likely the team to beat, with Noynoy having “integrity” as his selling point, and Mar, his economic background. And, they’re both related to former Presidents, so they should know what they’re doing.

Aside from the two, others in the running are Former President Joseph Estrada (he says it’s 99.9% sure about it), Sipag at Tyaga king Manny Pangilinan (who has yet to find his vice presidentiable), Gilbert “Gabo” Teodoro (no running mate yet, and some people think it’s a kiss of death, him being endorsed by the President.. awww… well, let’s all see..), and then there’s Loren Legarda, Noli de Castro, Chiz Escudero, and Jejomar Binay.

I think Manny Pangilinan should get Makati Mayor Binay as his vice president — it would make a good fight this coming 2010 election. Am not sure about the others but with the recent development — I mean the Aquino-Roxas tandem, Pangilinan-Binay is the best match. Just make sure that there’s an online backup or something come election day.. You know, just in case there’s power interruption…

tsk…

Chiz and Loren: Local Obama and Clinton?

Senators Francis “Chiz” Escudero and Loren Lgarda — are they the local Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton? What do you guys think?

The presidential elections is nearing, and by now, a lot have already expressed their intention to run as our highest official. There’s VP Noli de Castro, Senators Manny Villar and Mar Roxas, MMDA Chair Bayani Fernando, and Mayor Jejomar Binay. Even former President Joseph Estrada is being rumored as the opposition bet, if the group would really, literally be in the opposition — if they wouldnt unite.

Senator Loren Legarda has already expressed desire to run as President — I even saw her say in an interview that she wont be able to implement her projects fully unless she is “captain of the ship” (something like that). Of course, opposition also has Senator Chiz Escudero, who people are seeing as a strong candidate… but has yet to acknowledge since he is still “currently” underage. He will turn 40 come October, though.

Now going back, could it be that Senators Chiz and Loren go the Obama and Clinton way… where they would debate their way as the Opposition President, and… who ever loses would just have to be content on becoming part of his/her cabinet? (provided that he/she wins?)

… just thinking out loud.
