Kapuso Diether Ocampo
ABS-CBN kapamilya homegrown talent Diether Ocampo’s now a kapuso. My initial reaction was a shocked, “huwaaat!?”

Ricky Lo reports that Diet signed a maximum four-year contract with GMA Network where he’ll be doing koreanovela adaptations, host some stuff, and of course, movies. It was also mentioned that his first project is All About Eve with Iza Calzado. By the way, Diet just finished Iisa Pa Lamang in ABS-CBN, opposite Claudine Barretto.
Will this be a good move on Diet’s part? Hmmnn… But I know Diet’s one of the well-loved guys in the kapamilya channel, as in he’s loved by all, so for sure, the kapuso folks would love him just as much.

Hazing on Case Unclosed
Hey guys, please watch the “Kamatayan sa Kapatiran” episode on Kara David’s Case Unclosed this coming Thursday (November 13), midnight at GMA 7… It’s after Saksi.

Here’s the episode summary:
“On August 27, 2007, the life of graduating Public Administration student Cris Anthony Mendez suddenly ended due to severe beatings in the initiation rite for neophytes of the Sigma Rho Fraternity in UP Diliman. Cris was the latest victim in the long list of hazing-related deaths in the Philippines.
This Thursday on Case Unclosed, Kara David reopens Cris’ story and investigates on his case, together with other hazing-related deaths that remain unsolved up to this day. One such case is that of Lenny Villa, who also died in the initiation of Aquila Legis Fraternity. 17 years after his death, the criminal cases filed against the accused are still pending.
What is it in fraternities that attract students to join this so-called brotherhood, despite the violent tradition of hazing? Case Unclosed talks to a Fraternity Grand Archon who reveals in detail what really happens during an initiation. Also, listen to a neophyte as he discloses his reasons in joining a fraternity in spite of the growing number of hazing victims.
Under the direction of acclaimed indie filmmaker Rica Arevalo, join Kara David as she re-examines unsolved cases and find answers to longstanding questions in Case Unclosed airing this Thursday midnight after the late night newscast Saksi.”
Rica’s the award-winning director of the award-winning Indie Film, ICU Bed #7.
Catch the documentary, okay!
As Rica puts it, “Walang tulugan!”

Dingdong Dantes among E! Entertainment 25 World’s Sexiest Men
… and that’s according to international entertainment tv authority, E! Entertainment, which is based in Los Angeles, California.
GMA News reports that E! Entertainment has been coordinating with Dingdong Dantes‘ manager for the past couple of weeks cause they’re keen on including our very own Dingdong in their 25 sexiest men of the world list.
Im guessing the line would be something like, “a sexy Filipino actor with an equally sexy name, Dingdong” (joke, hehehe!)…
Anyway, if ever, things are really looking good for Dingdong… who’s turned hotter than hot since his portrayal of Sergio in our version of Marimar.
And with this upcoming recognition from E! Entertainment nonetheless, it’s gonna be even brighter for Dingdong. An international career, perhaps?
We think he deserves it, we’ve seen Dingdong once at this one event we organized (just once, can we figure out what we’ve been doing wrong, lalala! lol)… way before the Marimar, maybe three years back… and mind, you, it’s for a really worthwhile cause.
We love Dingdong.

Arroyo SONA 2008
It is that time of the year again.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will be delivering her state of the nation address (SONA) on July 28, 2008 at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City. The President’s SONA is expected to focus on social programs, infrastructures and environment protection.

I remember having watched last year’s SONA, with the President announcing her vision for super regions — North Luzon Agribusiness Quadrangle, the Luzon Urban Beltway, Central Philippines Super Region, Mindanao Super Region, and the Cyber Corridor. The idea is for the government to develop these super regions to attract investors, to expedite development.
Then when the economic “angle” of these super regions improve, domino effect, peso is being expected to go strong, there’ll be more investments, the Philippines will have more money, and everybody would be happy.
But, honestly, I have no idea on what happened a year after, even a second after the 2007 SONA, perhaps the President would also talk about it in her nation address this year. And, I wouldnt be surprise if things didnt turn out as expected. Mainly because a lot of things came up, and everything got mixed up. Cause the past few months proved to be a tough time for our beloved Philippines — so tough that Pinoys could bear the super heat of the sun just to line up for a kilo of Php15-NFA rice, that even rich Pinoys are now riding the MRT — so tough.
It is this that makes the real Pinoy strong.
Laban lang ng laban. Kaya natin to.
