The first Pinoy Idol is Gretchen Espina!

Yehey! She has the best voice among the three, and for a singing competition like Pinoy Idol, she is the best choice.

Just a recap, Ram Chavez was first eliminated.

The remaining two idol finalists, Gretchen Espina and Jayann Bautista, then sang judge Ogie Alcasid’s original composition, “To You”, as the Final Idol Song (just like Kelly Clarkson’s “A Moment Like This” in American Idol).

Then the announcement of winners! Gretchen got it! Sad for Jayann, but she should not worry.. with her sexy good looks (plus talent), she’s super marketable. Even John “Sweet” Lapuz kept rooting for her earlier at Showbiz Central.

Gretchen gets a contract from GMA and BMG records, a million pesos from SM, a Mitsubishi ES 2008 model car worth a million pesos, and an avida condo worth 2.2 million pesos, that’s a lot of pesosesoses — 5.7 million worth of prizes, the biggest ever in the history of Philippine singing competition!

Make us proud, girl!

And the Pinoy Idol Winner is…

So the Pinoy Idol final three had just wrapped up their final songs…

What’s our verdict?

Jayann Bautista has the looks. Just a glimpse, and you’d see a celebrity. She’s got this big voice, but even if she sometimes gets off-key (she must be nervous), we’re so blinded by her good looks and sexy bod that we’re willing to forget.. hehe. Just a little tweaking and she’ll be fine. Her last song, Tina Turner’s Proud Mary, proved she could perform. Ala-kylie minogue, maybe? Sexy!

Gretchen Espina has the best voice. She’s there not because she’s the daughter of a governor but because she really has what it takes, the singing skills, to be a Pinoy Idol. She may be emotional, as always mentioned by judge Ogie Alcasid, but that means she’s equipped, experience-wise.

Ram Chavez has the personality. He has an okay voice and an okay look, but what distinguishes him from the other two is that he seems to breathe like a star. He can move the crowd, and is not afraid to take risks. Very daring, and we like that! Rugged but clean. Astig!

Pinoy Idol Final Three (3)

Results are out!

Final Three are Jayann Bautista, Gretchen Espina, and Ram Chavez.

Beginning of the show, host Raymond Gutierrez asked the judges who they thought would be the final three. Their choice is unanimous — Kid, Ram, and Jayann. But, it was Kid who first got eliminated!

Kid is Ogie’s choice, Ram for Jolina, and Jayann for Wyngard.

The girls were first called for the final three, then Ram…

Eliminated Idol hopefuls Kid and Daryl performed their last songs, Careless Whisper and The Promise.. and we think they both did awesome.

Congratulations!

PS (pahabol sulat, hehe): Ram said yesterday that he’d be rendering something “heartfelt” or with emotion if he would be one of the final three.. Now, we’re all gonna be waiting for that.

Pinoy Idol Top 5 Elimination

Last night’s Pinoy Idol gala will be the last for two Idol hopefuls…

It was interesting to watch last night’s Pinoy Idol, especially with one of them singing my fave Careless Whisper, and surely, Kid Camaya did not disappoint. His best, even.

Nerves took over Governor’s daughter Gretchen Espina, it will be sad if she leaves just because of a poor song choice (one of Fantasia’s) cause she has one of the best voices in the competition… strong and sultry. Ram Chaves is great, as expected.. but the judges did not let him off as easy as you think cause they seemed to be looking for more emotions in his singing, and not the usual “rock” bar gig-type of performance he gives week after week. As the judges say, it’s too easy for him.

Janyan, on the other hand, seemed full of emotion.. perhaps because her bff Rachel Anne Go’s there? Then, Daryl Celis performed an okay song.

So who’s… we mean who “are” going to be eliminated tonight? Hopefully, it will not be your favorite.. so get your celphones and vote. hehehe.
