Survivor Philippines vs Kahit Isang Saglit

GMA 7’s Survivor Philippines survived the tv premier “rating game” against ABS-CBN’s Kahit Isang Saglit. Survivor got a 31.8% audience share, versus the 22.7% raised by the new kapamilya Asianovela. This is based on the overnight ratings of the AGB Nielsen Philippines among Mega Manila households.

Survivor Philippines impressively ranked fourth in the primetime race. Others in the top ten are:

1. Dyesebel - 38.8%
2. Codename Asero - 36.4%
3. Ako si Kim Samsoon - 34.8%
4. Survivor Philippines - 31.8%
5. 24 Oras - 28.3%
6. I Love Betty La Fea - 28.2%
7. TV Patrol World - 27.8%
8. Iisa Pa Lamang - 25.8%
9. Dyosa - 25.3%
10.My Husband’s Woman - 22.7%

Kahit Isang Saglit is on the eleventh place with 22% audience share.

Wow, kapuso rules the primetime race ha!

Hi guys… Decided to have a make-over for this site, wala lang (trans. just nothing), trip-trip… hehehe…

I Love Betty La Fea

Well, just trying to Betty-fy this blog, just so we could serve you even better… ows? Truth is, your admin (that’s me) have got nothing better to do this weekend, and a friend of mine asked me if I know how to do wordpress themes, so I downloaded some e-books to give it a try… and sadly, I failed. Waah. Am not geeky enough.

But… yes, there’s a but! I know how to manipulate graphics (freelance artist here), so I edited some stuff here at this free template (thanks to Brian Gardner) to come up with a much more personalized “The Filipino Web”. Hope you guys like it!

Speaking of I Love Betty La Fea, it’s gonna premier tomorrow, sandwiched by Dyosa and Iisa Pa Lamang… on kapamilya network, ABS-CBN’s primetime bida!

On the look out for Vhong and Thou’s character! So cute! Watched them on ASAP earlier today and Thou looks really glam! We love!

Will it be Papa Piolo?

Kapamilya network ABS-CBN sure is enjoying this mystery ala guessing game they’re trying to play with the fans cause til now, we still are not certain who’s gonna play Armando, that’s the guy opposite Bea Alonso’s character, Betty, in I Love Betty La Fea.

A wikipedia entry we posted a few days back says it’s John Lloyd Cruz, but a recent ABS-CBN interview featured Ruffa Gutierrez texting Piolo (or is it the other way around?) saying “he wants to work with her in a movie or a soap”… Could this be an insinuation that Papa Piolo could be it?

Hmmn.. we’re still hoping it’s John Lloyd cause we know that Papa Piolo’s (as if we’re close to Papa P, ahihi!) busy shooting a movie with Angel Locsin, a follow-up of their Lobo project.

Anyway, Armando or not, we love you, Papa Piolo!!!

I Love Betty La Fea

We love Betty La Fea, and even more because of Bea!

We’ve already seen the trailer and it’s so cute! Especially with Vhong looking like an oh-so comedic geek. We’ve already had a glimpse of Bea without the glamour, as Betty, and had to admit, she fits the role perfectly (at least in the looks aspect cause that’s what we have so far).

It is still a few more days before we get a dose of the Pinay Betty la Fea, and there are already online contests regarding the show. There’s a cute one called, “Betty-fy Yourself” where fans get to be Betty for a day. They must transform themselves as Betty (for girls), and as Nicolas (for the guys). Now, fans must take a before and after photo just to be sure that they had a “transformation” and that’s not their original look. lol.

For those not in the loop, I Love Betty La Fea is the Philippine franchise of the Columbian telenovela, Yo soy Betty, La Fea that’s been popular the world over, especially in the US where it’s called Ugly Betty.

I Love Betty La Fea boasts of a really good-looking cast topbilled by Bea Alonzo as Betty, Ruffa Gutierrez as Daniela Valencia, Vhong Navarro as Nicolas Mora, and Ai Ai delas Alas as Julia.

Supporting characters include Sam Concepcion as Andrew, Ronaldo Valdez as Hermes, Megan Young as Marcela, Wendy Valdez as Patricia, Joem Bascon as Mario, Randolf Stalamacky as Randy, Ronnie Liang as Enrique, Thou Reyes as Hugo, Marvin Yap as Bart, Lloyd Zaragoza as Roman, Sheryn Regis as Kylie, Meryll Soriano as Rose, Krystel Moreno as Jen, Arlene Tolibas as Cely, CJ Jaravata as Lita, Sammy Villaresis as Caloy, Jojo Alejar as Mac, Jayson Gainza as Adolfo, Nan Clenuar as Mickey, and Bam Romana as Donald. (Whew, that’s a lot!)

As for Armando Mendoza, the actor remains a mystery… but, a wikipedia research reveals it’s gonna be fafa John Lloyd Cruz! We think he is the perfect choice!

Bea equals Fea… seems like destiny!
