syalaM
After 2 years of being rhythmically visible in our music industry, world music band syalaM released their self-produced debut album “Tayo” under Mah Music Records. syalaM is composed of Jamir Adiong (vocals and rhythm guitar), Jaff Husin (lead guitar), Simon de Guia (bass), AJ Elazegui (percussions), and O’Neil Albaña (drums and percussions).
The album consists of 10 original tracks that deal with the struggle and the present culture of everyday Filipinos. syalaM provides a broad range of musicality, ranging from reggae to blues, folk dance to tribal ethnic, and jazz to funk.
syalaM, formed as a side project band to most of its members in 2006, released their debut Single “CONGRESSMAN” along with its music video, during our 2007 National Election, which startled many of their listeners with its blatant humor and rapid climb to #1 on NU107’s Stairway to Seven daily countdown
Their music Video is currently being aired on MYX and is still featured on GMA News’ website’s most popular video section (http://youscoop.gmanews.tv).
