PBB Cathy got evicted

January 16, 2010 · Filed Under tv · 1 Comment

To all Cathy-haters, you got your wish… Cathy got evicted from the Pinoy Big Brother House. She had the second highest “vote to save” votes, but not enough to save her from those who have “voted to evict” her. I bet her haters find the “result” better than finding a natural cure for hemorrhoids. Okay, was joking.

Personally, I think she is really pretty, and smart. She knows how to play — strategies and all.. but not enough to be at the top 4. I thought she’s going to be cause of her Finland stint (ala Bruce), but she got the boot.

Anyway, she’s still inside the house — only this time, she’s gonna be with some select ex-housemates… not yet sure what they’re gonna do, but as Rica puts it, whatever it is they’ll be doing will bring out either the beauty or the beasts in the remaining housemates.

By the way, as expected, Melissa got the “best standing” in tonight’s eviction. She’s so funny too when Coco was inside the house (think he cried because he was overwhelmed by the admiration shown to him by the girl housemates).

PS: Happy birthday, toni! I asked Kuya to hug you. hehehe :D

From Aling Dionesia to Mommy D

November 10, 2009 · Filed Under celebrities · Comment

Just like her son, Manny “the Pacman” Pacquiao, Aling Dionesia is unstoppable — now, she even wants to be called “Mommy D”.

She recently had a back-to-back dance showdown with comedy queen Aiai delas Alas in Wowowee, and guestings on “The Buzz” and Ted Failon’s show.. was able to watch the one she had with Failon and she’s so cute and nice… knows how to throw punchlines — hehehe… and at sixty, she’s really sexy huh.

Was supposed to blog about it yesterday, Cyber Monday, but was too busy.. hehehe. Anyway just catch her film (she’s being introduced), “Ang Tanging Pamilya” where she plays the mom of Sam Milby. Others in the movie are Joseph Estrada, Ai Ai delas Alas, and Toni Gonzaga.

PDA Grand Dream Night: Performance Night

September 13, 2008 · Filed Under tv · 2 Comments

The Astrodome was filled with people… wow.

PDA

It’s the Performance Night of the Pinoy Dream Academy Season Two Grand Dream Night and the top six scholars did make an impression.

The show started with hosts Toni Gonzaga, Billie Crawford, and my fave Nikki Gil singing with the ex-scholars.. afterwards, the top six scholars, Miguel, Laarni, Cris, Van, Liezel, and Bugoy were introduced by Maestro Ryan Cayabyab as “the graduates”.

Then, the performance of the “love teams”, namely, Sam Milby and Anne Curtis for Dyosa, Carmen Soo and Jericho Rosales for Kahit Isang Saglit, and Judy Anne Santos and Derek Ramsey for Humingi Ako sa Langit. Anyway, the girls’ gowns were probably color-coordinated to represent the network. Hehehe.

Now, for the performance of the scholars…

Miguel

Miguel came first, and he sang “Love is on the Way” and “Man on the Mirror” as arranged by Musical Director Samson (not sure if name’s Von)… He was introduced as the outstanding balladeer, well-rounded musician, and versatile artist.. ayos! Girlie Rodis wished him goodluck, and further said that he has improved a lot. Personally, I thought Miguel should have worn a coat over his tshirt so he wouldnt look too boyish cause his image says otherwise.. For a nineteen year old, he looks really mature ha.. But, I like him.. Think he’s nice in person.

Laarni

Laarni came second, and sang “Manalig Ka” and “Boogie Wonderland” as arranged also by MD Samson. It was Ryan Cayabyab who commented on her performance, and he said something like “among all the singers, Laarni’s the most blessed one, cause she can do so many things with her voice…” Great, right? Not! Cause Ryan Cayabyab then pointed out Laarni’s mistake during her performance (now, although Laarni really had some not so good moments when she performed, I think that’s uncalled for considering how Girlie Rodis said only nice things about Miguel, tsk) — in fact, Ryan said “anlaki ng pagkakamali mo!”… which made it even more obvious that he doesnt really like Laarni (as observed by a lot of people in message boards). Tsk.

Cris

Cris sang third, and I loved her performance. She sang “Out Here on My Own” and “Candyman”, as arranged by “the Homer Flores”. She did really, really great.. After her performance, Teacher Monet pointed out that we’ve already branded Cris as sexy and pretty, but now, Cris has proven that she is an artist. Then, Teacher Monet goes poetic (lol) and said “There’s nothing but a bright future in store, for Cris Pastor”… how cute, with the rhyming and all.. Hehehe.

Van

Van came fourth… and sang “Hard Habit to Break” and “Babaeng Probinsyana”… and I love it! Super! He’s actually the best tonight… and mind you, not saying that cause I think he’s cute, but he really did deliver! Joey Reyes said something like “he may not have the best voice, but his biggest advantage is that he is a star!”… And right after Joey said that, he kinda licked the mic! lol.. What’s that for? I kinda have an idea but no, am not getting there! I heart Joey! I would have done that too… Hihihi!

Liezel

Liezel came next… and she sang “I am changing” and “Respect”… Louie Ocampo said he was impressed with her during the first gala, and now, is even more impressed. Yep, I’d say Liezel sang her way to the final three… I still hold to my suggestion that if she collaborates with Billie Crawford, the international market might take notice of her.. Could be the start of a super great career. Plus, I love how they said Liezel is the future of Philippine RnB.

Bugoy

Okay, so last is Bugoy Drilon (wow, new screen name)… he sang “Ligaya” and “Climb every Mountain”.. and showed his deadly damubs (dance moves)… Teacher Kitchie said Bugoy has come a long way since the final screening when he sang “Angels Brought Me Here”.. and that, indeed, angels brought Bugoy there at the Academy. Thought so, too… Nice touch and interplay with words. Love it..

So there, who’s gonna be who? Am still keeping my Laarni guess as the winner.. but if tonight’s performance would be the sole basis, I’d say Van.

Mga fans, vote na! Hehehe…

PDA Dream Big-atin: 12th Gala Performance Night

September 6, 2008 · Filed Under tv · Comment

Scholars Dancing

Twas a great performance night, with most of the scholars dancing. Of all six, we loved Liezel’s and Laarni’s performances the most. Liezel looks really beautiful when she’s all made up… and we agree, malakas ang international appeal ng lola mo! And Laarni, super confidence nga talaga!

Anyway, Toni did a mini-interview with the scholars… asked Bugoy if he’s gay (well, implied) and he said he’s not.. and that he’s just like that. For Cris, Toni asked about her “relationship” with Sen, and she said they’re friends.

Laarni was asked about her being “overacting” (tfw’s words), as she’s always seen on tv crying and all… Laarni said it’s what she really is, that even if she cries or acts like that, she cares and loves her housemates.

On Miguel, Toni asked about his “decision to choose himself as top scholar” in one of their activities, and how he feels when he ranked 5th (or 6th).. average. He said he did that because he wanted to be the PDA champ, and that it’s okay since we all have to wait til next week to see who’s who.

Van was asked if he would quit now if his mom ask him to, and he said no (we kinda missed what he said, to be honest, haha)… and Liezel about her being from the best to being kinda so-so as the pda near its end. The pretty scholar said she’s been giving her all and her best in her every performance

The scholars also did a dance number, and we think Laarni had a wardrobe malfunction. Hehehe. Bugoy really loves to dance, noh?

A teaser scholar standing was also announced, but it’s the usual scholar a, b, and c thing… so there’s no use posting it right now.

Please dont stop the music.

PS: We apologize for the very clear photo. Hahaha!
