Kanto Boys in Wowowee is a good idea. Hehehe.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the Kanto Boys in Wowowee yesterday — them being Billy Crawford, Luis Manzano, Vhong Navarro, and John Lloyd Cruz. The guys are not only fun, but are also somehow good looking.

Having them on the show kinda reminded me of the APO Hiking Society during the Sanlinggo na Po Sila days (oh my gosh, i feel old)… or even the Tito, Vic, and Joey Eat Bulaga troika. They could very well be the next hosts of Wowowee.

You know, it’s nice to see cute guys acting all giddy on tv. It could be like a temporary treatment for depression for many of its viewers.

Hehehe.

Marian Rivera and Dennis Trillo to play Tarot

GMA Kapuso network hot property Marian Rivera has two new movies lined up — one is the horror film, Tarot, opposite Dennis Trillo, and the other is with Vhong Navarro.

Still in the rumor mill, though, although Ive also read this at the gma site (so there must be some truth to this).

The Tarot film will be directed by Jun Lana, and it’s gonna be Marian and Dennis’ second movie together, the first one being Pamahiin (also a horror movie). With Marian successful now, here’s guessing that this movie will be a hit. Although am guessing the movie with Vhong would be a greater hit because of Vhong (plus, it would make Marian more popular, as far as kapamilya loyalists are concerned –TFC hello!)…

No clue how to play tarot cards though… dont even know what the set-up would be like when reading tarots, like is there a table, just like blog geeks have their computer desks and lappies? :D

Anyway, maybe the tarot could read what the movie’s future in the box office would be…

I Love Betty La Fea Premier Commentary

I Love Betty La Fea

I Love Betty La Fea had finally hit the tv screen, and here’s what we have to say:

1. We love how it’s fast-paced. No more waiting for two or three days, heck, even a week, for Bea to appear as Betty.
2. Havent watched the original Betty La Fea but we’re kinda thinking why Vhong, as Nicolas, is looking too “childish” when he’s supposed to be the same age as Bea… geeks arent like that, ye know…
3. We love how the actors fit into their characters… most especially Thou as Hugo! He’s gorgeous!
4. Maegan Young looks hot, and she seems to now have come out of her shell.. good move!
5. We love Ruffa, and the line, “Am not bitter, just better”. Hehehe.
6. Bea looks endearing as Betty…
7. Papa Loydie wearing shorts after making…?!?
8. Wendy looks hot as the hot future sexytary.
9. Aiai and Ronaldo are both very funny (especially with the laway scene, lol)… same with Sam (this is a great role for him, by the way!)
10. We love its timeslot. Dont move it to a later time, okay…

The verdict… it’s Betty-ful!

I Love Betty La Fea

We love Betty La Fea, and even more because of Bea!

We’ve already seen the trailer and it’s so cute! Especially with Vhong looking like an oh-so comedic geek. We’ve already had a glimpse of Bea without the glamour, as Betty, and had to admit, she fits the role perfectly (at least in the looks aspect cause that’s what we have so far).

It is still a few more days before we get a dose of the Pinay Betty la Fea, and there are already online contests regarding the show. There’s a cute one called, “Betty-fy Yourself” where fans get to be Betty for a day. They must transform themselves as Betty (for girls), and as Nicolas (for the guys). Now, fans must take a before and after photo just to be sure that they had a “transformation” and that’s not their original look. lol.

For those not in the loop, I Love Betty La Fea is the Philippine franchise of the Columbian telenovela, Yo soy Betty, La Fea that’s been popular the world over, especially in the US where it’s called Ugly Betty.

I Love Betty La Fea boasts of a really good-looking cast topbilled by Bea Alonzo as Betty, Ruffa Gutierrez as Daniela Valencia, Vhong Navarro as Nicolas Mora, and Ai Ai delas Alas as Julia.

Supporting characters include Sam Concepcion as Andrew, Ronaldo Valdez as Hermes, Megan Young as Marcela, Wendy Valdez as Patricia, Joem Bascon as Mario, Randolf Stalamacky as Randy, Ronnie Liang as Enrique, Thou Reyes as Hugo, Marvin Yap as Bart, Lloyd Zaragoza as Roman, Sheryn Regis as Kylie, Meryll Soriano as Rose, Krystel Moreno as Jen, Arlene Tolibas as Cely, CJ Jaravata as Lita, Sammy Villaresis as Caloy, Jojo Alejar as Mac, Jayson Gainza as Adolfo, Nan Clenuar as Mickey, and Bam Romana as Donald. (Whew, that’s a lot!)

As for Armando Mendoza, the actor remains a mystery… but, a wikipedia research reveals it’s gonna be fafa John Lloyd Cruz! We think he is the perfect choice!

Bea equals Fea… seems like destiny!
