Inhale, Exhale

“Every living being depends upon breathing, and cessation of breathing is cessation of life. From the first cry of the infant to the last grasp of a dying person, there is nothing but a series of breathes”

This one’s from the Yoga book, “Yoga for Health”, i got for free when I signed up for class. I decided to share it here cause I think it’s very important to do proper breathing exercise… to improve one’s health.

Especially now, because of the extreme heat we have now, a lot are having breathing problems… because of polluted air, people even need a dehumidifier to clean it all out and breathe well.

I enrolled in yoga primarily to learn proper breathing.. just that… I feel everything else will follow once I master that.

Yoga in QC

… and I survived my second yoga session. lol.

This time, maybe because my body’s got all warmed up from my session last week, my bod didn’t hurt as much as it did the first time. Unlike the first where I felt like I needed some muscle and joint pain relief… and I almost couldn’t walk two days after my yoga session. hahaha.

I tried another yoga center, by the way. This time, I attended the beginners yoga in Ananda Marga… and all I could say is that the teacher is much more strict than my first yoga teacher. Well, strict but kinda gentle cause he sees to it that my mom’s okay — she was in the class too, her first yoga session. So my mom wants to take her yoga class there.

By the way, I also liked the friendly atmosphere there… plus, you get to share chitchats with monks. Cool.

If you wanna do yoga, here’s what you need:

1. Open mind
2. Patience
3. Tolerance to pain (hehehe)
4. yoga mat (my first teacher said a towel’s okay too)
5. towel
6. water bottle
7. money (to pay hehehe)

Anything for a better us!

Health and Wellness for 2010

This was my 2009 “goal”…

Well, I had at least, changed a few of may ways — I stopped drinking soda (and only have coffee occasionally), and have started taking more fruit juices and stuff. I’ve also tried exercising (i did it like five times the whole year, hahaha!), and I started walking a lot (well, climbing the stairs).

Okay, I’m not really that much at it, but last year, i took a few baby steps… You may say, go enroll at a gym so you’d have access to fitness equipment… i actually live near a mall and a unit owner where i stay put up a gym just a week ago.

But, this year, I’d like to do some yoga — to improve my breathing, my bod, my mind and spirit… I dont know where to start though, i dont have anything yet (like mat, towels, what have yous)… but i commit to do this — start this this coming year.

… health and wellness.
